micro:bit 2xAA Battery Holder

The easiest way to power your micro:bit is via a micro-USB cable. However, if you are building a project which requires battery power, this two-cell AA battery holder is perfect for the job.

This is a two-cell AA battery holder built specifically for the BBC micro:bit. The ~150mm cable has a JST-PH connector which fits BBC micro:bit perfectly.

AA vs AAA Batteries

This battery holder is designed for two AA batteries, while the battery holder that comes with our micro:bit starter kit is designed for two AAA batteries.

So what's the difference? Capacity! AA batteries offer the same voltage as AAA, they're just bigger in size. AA batteries can provide power to your project longer than AAA batteries.
