Beschreibung
The Adafruit Feather 32u4 LoRa Radio (RFM9x) combines an ATmega32u4 microcontroller with a 433MHz LoRa radio, built-in USB and LiPo battery charging for long-range wireless projects.
The Adafruit Feather 32u4 LoRa Radio (RFM9x) combines an ATmega32u4 microcontroller with a built-in 433MHz LoRa radio, making it easy to add long-range wireless communication to portable projects.
The board runs at 8MHz with 3.3V logic and includes 32KB of Flash, 2KB of RAM and native USB support. This allows you to program and debug the board directly over USB without needing a separate USB-to-serial adapter. It can also act as a USB keyboard, mouse or MIDI device.
For portable projects, the Feather includes a connector for a 3.7V LiPo battery and built-in battery charging. A battery isn't required, as the board can run directly from its Micro USB connection. When both are connected, the board automatically switches to USB power and charges the battery. Battery voltage can also be monitored through an analogue pin.
433MHz LoRa Radio
The built-in RFM9x 433MHz LoRa module is designed for sending small amounts of data over longer distances than typical 2.4GHz wireless technologies such as WiFi and Bluetooth.
- SX1276-based LoRa module
- 433MHz radio frequency
- SPI interface
- Arduino library support
- Adjustable output power from +5 to +20dBm
- Up to 100mW output power
- Around 300µA in full sleep
- Around 120mA peak at +20dBm transmission
- Around 40mA during active radio listening
- Supports a simple wire antenna or optional uFL connector
With suitable antennas and settings, LoRa can provide long-range communication while keeping power consumption relatively low.
The board comes fully assembled and tested with a USB bootloader for use with the Arduino IDE. Headers are included and can be soldered to the board for use with a solderless breadboard.
A suitable 433MHz antenna is required. A simple wire antenna can be made by cutting and soldering a suitable length of wire to the antenna connection.
LiPo battery, USB cable and antenna are not included.

Revision History
- As of November 27, 2023 we've updated this PCB with Adafruit Pinguin to make a lovely and legible silkscreen
- As of August 5, 2020 we are selling a version of this breakout that has a protective metal tin on the radio module! The breakout is otherwise the same.
